About Katherine Dare
About Mrs. Dare:
Katherine Dare was raised in Stafford County, Virginia, graduating from Colonial Forge High School, in 2001. She then attended Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Virginia graduating, in 2004, with a Bachelor's Degree in Government Administration with a Concentration in Legal Studies. During her time at CNU, Katherine was active in Phi Alpha Delta, the pre-law society. She was also active in Student Government and Alpha Phi Fraternity International. After working at a law firm in Occoquan, Virginia for a year, Katherine moved to Vansant, Virginia to attend law school. She attended the Appalachian School of Law in Grundy, Virginia, graduating in 2009. During her time at ASL, Katherine was active in Phi Alpha Delta, a legal fraternity, and the Environmental Law Society.
In 2009, Katherine was admitted to practice law in North Carolina and soon after opened The Dare Law Firm, PLLC. She chooses to practice primarily in the areas of family law and criminal defense as those areas of law and the clients that come along with it bring her the most reward. She volunteers for Pisgah Legal Services and the North Carolina Bar's Lawyer on the Line Program.
Katherine married her high school sweetheart Sean soon after graduating from college. Sean is a science teacher, football and track coach at Enka Middle School, in Buncombe County. They are residents of the Mountain Home area of Hendersonville, North Carolina. Katherine and Sean are the puppy parents of Mick (a Pembroke Welsh Corgi), Hurley (a Chesapeake Bay Retriever) and Maggie (a Terrier mix). The family of five recently welcomed the sixth member, a son, Crosby Lyam Dare.
